A bit about me:
I come from a multi-generational family of artists, which has heavily influenced my work. Growing up in New Orleans, a city overflowing with unique self-expression and creativity, pursuing my own artistic outlet became an integral part of my life from an early age. I continue to draw inspiration from the growing list of diverse adventures, people, cultures and cities that have become warm homes away from home for me. Although many mediums have interested me, my current focus is graphite pencil portraiture.
Most would describe my style as semi photo-realism but my goal for each piece exceeds just copying a photo. My intent is to transform an image into something evocative and intimate with my own interpretation while honoring the subject’s likeness. Whether drawing the joy of a couple on their wedding day, the warmth of an old loyal dog that passed, or the curiosity of a child, my work initiates a compelling connection back to those feelings, back to those moments.
“The object of art is to make eternal the desperately fleeting moment”
-Tennessee Williams
